Sit Like a Lady

hiya!  this is where i'll put links and other exciting tidbits about sewing...enjoy:^)

...why "sit like a lady?"  well, as i mentioned earlier, i have my grandmother's old cabinet sewing machine.  one of my goals with this next round of financial aid is to take it on over to cathy's vac & sew is to get her all nice and fixed up...hopefully in working order:^)  anyway, this sewing machine is situated in a cabinet with drawers on either side, a knee-press, and lots of wooden spools inside.  she purchased the sewing machine in december 1960, for ten whole dollars!  i can't even imagine that.  at the time, this machine was "state-of-the-art" and one of the first automatic machines.  i'll get a picture up one of these days.

my point?  well, the machine still has its original manual and my favorite talking point is:

"the necchi supernova lets you sit like a lady, and sew like a genius."

great, isn't it?!
